Member firms actively look for teaming opportunities, whether it's to take advantage of local experience or specialized expertise. With strong relationships and credentials in place, the team can win projects that individual members would not have qualified for. For example, a major media company located in the southeast wanted to build a 300,000-square-foot campus complex that combined office space and broadcast operations. Two GDA firms teamed: one, local to the client, and one, with specialized expertise in broadcast facilities. They won the project, and the local firm continues to get repeat work from the company.
In another instance, a member architecture firm joined forces with a member acoustics firm to pursue a series of church and synagogue renovations, restorations and additions. They won four major projects, with the specialty firm able to extend its marketing reach far outside its local geographic area.
Thanks to a common GDA commitment, firm relationships are already in place, there's continuous networking for new teaming opportunities, and members know their GDA colleagues will put them on teams whenever possible.
