Sharing Knowledge to Help Members Build Business
Several member firms, seeing the growing demand for design-build services, were keenly interested in evaluating these services and learning how to set up their own design-build divisions. They asked a GDA member that had set up a highly profitable design-build division for help. The initiating firm developed and presented a one day program that offered valuable knowledge about the legal aspects of setting up a design-build division, the elements of a strategic plan, how to market the services, types of people to hire and how to perform the work. The results: successful design-build divisions for the three firms that attended.

This program is one example of the depth of knowledge and information shared among GDA members, and of the level of commitment to help one another achieve success. It is an engagement that goes far beyond the sharing of professional knowledge among most firms.
